What Is Genetic Engineering?

A genetic engineering technique involves the use of recombinant DNA  to alter an organism's genetic makeup. A genetic engineer uses biotechnology to modify the genes of an organism. Nowadays, genetic engineering is a great career choice. Both the private and public sectors can employ genetic engineers. Both government and private organizations need genetic engineers. There is a promising future for genetic engineering in India with the increasing number of biotech companies.

Academic  Qualification :

If you have completed your Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent, you must have obtained at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (P C M) and at least 50% in either Class X or Class XII level in English. In the field of Genetic Engineering, numerous institutions offer diploma, bachelor, and master's degree courses. Genetic engineering can be used in medical and pharmaceutical industries, research and development departments, agricultural sectors, genetic engineers, chemical engineers, etc. 

Diploma Course:

 In order to get admission into diploma courses, you must pass the 10th examination. It is a three-year duration program. Diploma in Genetic engineering 

Bachelor Courses: 

For this course, a minimum educational qualification of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects is required. The duration of these courses is 4 years. B.Tech/B.E. in Genetic engineering 

Master Courses: 

Candidates must have completed a B.Tech in Genetic engineering in order to qualify for M. Tech. It is a two-year duration program.

Nowadays, genetic engineering is a great career choice. You can go into both the public and private sectors as a genetic engineer. Graduates of genetic engineering programs are needed in both the public and private sectors. Considering the growing number of biotech firms in India, genetic engineering has a good future. Typically, genetic engineers work for pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizations, universities, and government agencies. Biomedical and biochemical engineers, as well as geneticists, are closely related to genetic engineers.
