Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry

Established in the year 1823 it is again one of the oldest government medical colleges in the country. Popularly known as JIPMER the college offers courses in 37 different disciplines. The list is inclusive of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Admissions into the college are offered through an entrance exam conducted by the institute. Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

Founded by Dr. TMA Pai in 1955 the Kasturba Medical College is a part of the Manipal University. Apart from the medical council of India, it is also recognized by the General Medical Council of Great Britain, Australian Medical Council, and Malaysian Medical Council. It is India’s first self-financed medical colleges offer MBBS, MD, M.Sc, Ph.D., M.Phil, and MS courses. Clearing the NEET Entrance Exam is a primary requirement for admission into the college.


Dr. MGR University, Tamil Nadu

The institution is a state university established in the year 1987 and is located in Chennai. It is considered the second-largest university in the health sciences sector in India. Armed Forces Medical College, Pune

Popularly known as AFMC, Pune is one of the medical institutions in the country. AFMC was established in 1948 with the main motto of training medical and paramedical professionals for employment in the armed forces. Today the college is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Madras Medical College, Chennai

Established in 1835 the college is one of the oldest and elite institutions offering medical education in India. The college was initially affiliated with the University of Madras but until 1988 when the institution received affiliation from the Dr. MGR University, Tamil Nadu. The list of courses includes undergraduate, post-graduate diploma, and postgraduate super specialty degrees.  Eligibility criteria for obtaining admission again depend upon the score secured in the NEET exam.
