BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Master/Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
· 4+ years of industry experience in data science, software development, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field with a track record of developing models end-end, managing large datasets using big data technologies and integrating the solution with in house application/BI tools.
· Experience with data scripting languages (e.g Python, R, Ruby etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Cloud-ML tools).
· Demonstrated use of modeling and optimization techniques tailored to meet business needs
· Hands-on experience and advanced knowledge of SQL
· Experience with one or more big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Spark etc.)
· Able to operate autonomously in scoping, executing, and delivering projects with Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
· A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· A PhD/Masters in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent)
· 5+ years of working experience as a Data Scientist with a large technology company
· Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, research science and machine learning
· Functional knowledge of AWS platforms such as S3, Glue, Athena, SageMaker
· Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Ability to develop practical solutions to complex problems informed by the state of the art and with limited guidance.
