Specific Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable data models using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets. Integrating data from various sources including Synapse, Dataverse, and SQL Server.
Optimize performance of Power BI reports and datasets.
Collaborate with business users and analysts to gather requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions.
Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices are followed.
Pro-actively stay updated with the latest features and updates in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Development of Paginated Power BI reports.
MS SQL Server development.
Define data structures, flows and transformations to enable the accurate delivery of MI for the business.
Document all work and ensure that any solution delivered can be supported across the team.
Systems Analysis and Design activities.
Specific Skills & Experience
Insurance experience.
Proven experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
Strong understanding of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling principles.
Excellent problem-solving and strong communication skills.
Strong knowledge of BI industry best practices.
Strong demonstrable PBI Visualization skills.
Ability to produce comprehensive technical and analytical documentation.
Strong MS SQL Server TSQL development.
Source Control - Team Foundation Server or GIT experience.
Data warehouse design and implementation using the Kimball methodology (SSAS Tabular).
Desirable
Azure Synapse.
MS SQL Server SSIS.
Azure DevOps.
Microsoft Power Apps development.
Exposure to new Fabric ecosystem (Dataflows, Notebooks, etc).
Python.
Experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake.
Familiarity with Git integration, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD practices.
Flexibility and a willingness to get involved in many tasks and technologies.
