BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years experience in the consumer or industrial electronics industry as a mechanical design engineer.
• 5+ years of product development experience with emphasis on complex electro-mechanical systems products that are manufactured, assembled, and tested at high volume including creating associated documentation (specs, test plans, drawings, etc)
• 5+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling, tooling reviews, and drawing release for production tooling.
• 5+ years of experience with designing for high-volume manufacturing and assembly processes (should include multiple tools in several of plastic injection / thermoforming, casting, sheet metal, machining, and various finishing processes)
• Experience with GD&T and Tolerance stack-up analysis for complex assemblies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of tooling and materials process validation (SPC, Cp, CpK)
• Demonstrated design experience integrating component modules (I/O, Displays, Batteries, PCBs, etc.)
• Product validation experience (Shock/Drop, Cycle Testing, and Environmental Testing)
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams and partnering closely with EE / Electronics engineers to deliver fully integrated real-world solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and diverse technical environment
• Experience with vendor management
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in DFM, DFA
• Experience with Agile PLM, Solidworks, Creo, or equivalent 3D CAD and database management skills
• Analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, or similar disciplines
• Experience working with VALVE projects.
