Selection Process:

The selection process comprises three successive stages, viz.,

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination;

Viva–Voce Test.

Preliminary Examination(Objective Type/OMR):

The Preliminary Examination will consist of one paper containing 100 multiple-choice questions for 3 hrs.

The papers will be set both in English and Tamil, and each question shall carry one mark and 0.10 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The minimum qualifying marks SCs, SC(A)s, and STs are 30 marks BC(OBCM)s, BC(M)s are 35 marks, and MBCs/DCs, Others 40 marks

Main Examination:

Translation Paper: 100 marks for 3 hrs

Law Paper – I: 100 marks for 3 hrs

Law Paper – II: 100 marks for 3 hrs

Law Paper –III: 100 marks for 3 hrs

The minimum qualifying marks SCs, SC(A)s, and STs are 30% BC(OBCM)s, BC(M)s are 35 %, and MBCs/DCs, Others 40%.

Viva-Voce Test: The viva-voce test shall be for sixty (60) marks, and candidates of all categories shall obtain a minimum of 18 marks for a pass in the Viva- Voce.

Selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of Total Marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination and Viva-Voce Test.

Note: Every person appointed to the category of Civil Judge by direct recruitment shall pass the Account Test for Executive officers within the probation period.

Examination Fee:

Registration Fee(One Time Online Registration): RS. 150/-

Preliminary Exam Fee: Rs. 100/- The Preliminary Examination fee should be paid by the applicants within the date of submission of the online application

Main Exam Fee:  Rs. 200/- Main Examination fee should be paid later only by those applicants who are admitted to the Main Examination based on the results of the Preliminary Examination

Exam Fee Concession:

SC/ST: Full Exemption

Most Backward Classes/ Denotified Communities: Three Free Chances

Backward Classes (Other than Muslim) / Backward Classes (Muslim): Three Free Chances

Ex-Servicemen: Two Free Chances

Persons with Benchmark Disability: Full Exemption

Destitute Widow: Full Exemption
